Obituary for Irving W. Lilley

Irving W. Lilley, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at home.

He was born in Chester County to the late William H. and Ethel (Lochard) Lilley and was the husband of Ruth M. (Rissmiller) Lilley, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Ephrata. Irving enjoyed reading, listening to classical and 40's and 50's music, and working crossword puzzles.

Irving attended the Gordon College in Massachusetts, earning a B.S. degree in English.

Irving worked as a teacher, bookstore keeper, candy salesman, and most recently an orderly for Ephrata Community Hospital.

In addition to his wife, Irving is survived by a daughter, Kristen Rose Drake of Bushkill, PA; 4 grandchildren, Alexis L., wife of Michael Foss, Lindsey Rose Drake, Philip S. Drake, and Kimberly J. Drake; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, David K., husband of Martha Lilley of Albuquerque, NM; and a cousin, Samuel L., husband of Marie Wilson of Lincoln University, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015, 11:00 am at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, 21 E Locust St., Ephrata, with Pastors Tom Nicholas and Dwight D. McKay officiating. The family will receive friends following the services in the church social hall.
