Obituary for William C. Monyer

William C.  Monyer
William C. Monyer, 79, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at United Zion Retirement Community.

He was born in Reading to the late William H. and Minerva (Reifsnyder) Monyer and was the husband of Arlene F. (Brubaker) Monyer, with whom he would have shared 53 years of marriage on August 1st.

He was a member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denver, where he had been an usher and greeter. He represented his church on the Denver Community Park Committee. He was both an Assistant and Scout Master of Denver Boy Scout Troop #32, a Paper Chairman for Pack 132 Cub Scouts, and the Assistant Webelos Master. He was active with Troop 32 for over 35 years. He enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains and antique coins.

William worked for Quinlan Pretzels of Denver for 42 years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by a daughter, Tammy L., wife of Don Barrett of Reamstown, a son, Todd L., husband of Ginny Monyer of Stevens; 2 grandchildren, Brent Allen Foltz and William Plante; and a brother, Raymond, husband of Gerry Monyer of Oley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Justine Monyer, and 2 grandchildren, Patricia A. Foltz and Nathan Plante.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 27, from 10 to 11 am at the Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 357 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Reverend Joseph A. Veres officiating.

Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made, in William's memory, to Peter's Porch at Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 357 Walnut St., Denver, PA 17517.
