Condolence: Doris and I struggled through Prof Shay's World History course in our freshman year at Valley. It was a tough introduction to college level work and we bonded over it despite the fact that I was a day student at the time. Later, when I moved into the new Mary Capp Green Hall, she and I were neighbors.

After college we went our separate ways but always kept in touch a few times a year. I stayed with her when I returned for our 50th class reunion. She was a gracious hostess and I enjoyed meeting her beloved dog, Molly, and cat, Buster, and seeing her beautiful garden.

Always a hard worker and interested in many things, Doris amazed me with her numerous activities, especially her devotion to the Girl Scouts. I know she will be missed by many, many people whose lives she touched.
