Obituary for Mary Louise Hornberger (Griesemer)

Mary Louise  Hornberger (Griesemer)
Mary Louise Hornberger, 80, of Akron, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Gardens at Stevens.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Oram and Mamie (Hartranft) Griesemer and was the wife of the late Clarence R. Hornberger who passed away in 2010.

She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church .

Mary was a teachers aid for IU13 for 20 years before retiring in 1980. She was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1955. Mary enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

Mary is survived by son, Daniel O., husband of Debra (Matthews) Hornberger, 6 nieces and nephews, granddaughter, Rebecca A., wife of John Brewster of West Lawn, great-granddaughter, Judith Lydia Brewster.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, LaRue Scherer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, from 10 to 11 AM, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main Street, Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 11 AM, with Pastor Henry E. Herbener officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
