Obituary for Wesley M. Martin

Wesley M. Martin, 53, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at home.

He was born in W. Earl Twp. to Mabel N. (Martin) Martin and the late Titus H. Martin and was the husband of Elaine M. (Hoover) Martin with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

He was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conf.).

Wesley enjoyed life as a dairy farmer and raised his family on the farm he grew up on. He was an active member of the West Earl Twp. Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his wife and mother, Wesley is survived by 10 children, Jolene (Merlin) Martin of Loysville, Lorelle (Nelson) Eberly of Pine Grove, Bryan (Katrina) Martin of Ephrata, Dwayne (Kirsten) Martin of New Bloomfield, Rhonda (Javin) Oberholtzer of Richland, Neal (Laura) Martin of Ephrata, Andrea, Sherita, Gary, and Kendall Martin, all at home; 12 grandchildren, Jennica, Julie, Micah, Maria, Josiah, Karissa, Weston, Jade, Bentley, Natalie, Kaleb, Bryce; 10 siblings, Susan (Leroy) Martin of Geneva, NY, Curvin (Edith) Martin of Memphis, MO, Nelson (Alma) Martin of Mt. Joy, Nancy (the late Paul Brubaker) of Romulus, NY, Titus, Jr. (Lois) Martin of East Earl, Mary (Curvin) Good of Narvon, Virginia (Darryl) Eberly of Loysville, Rosene (Shelley) Musser of Lititz, Sylvia (Cleason) High of Ephrata, Arthur (Janice) Martin of Lebanon and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Martin of Waterloo, NY.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Miranda Martin; 3 brothers, John, Leon and Walter Martin and a sister, Martha Martin.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Rd, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 9:00 AM at the fellowship center, with further services at 9:30 AM, from the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Church Road, Leola, with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
