Ray W. Gehman, 88, of Ulysses, formerly of Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

He was born in East Earl Twp. to the late Taylor P. and Cora S. (Shetzley) Gehman and was the husband of the late Florence A. (Smith) Gehman who passed away in 2000.

Ray was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling, collecting tractors and going to auctions. He especially enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching the hummingbirds.

Ray is survived by a son, Randolph T., husband of Sue (Sexton) Gehman of Ulysses; 2 daughters-in-law, Patrice (Stick) Gehman of Stevens, Susan (Leisey) Gehman of Mt. Pleasant Mills.7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson and 2 brothers, Clair R., husband of Carol (Ranck) Gehman of Leola, Darrel G., husband of Betty (Rodgers) Gehman of Lititz.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Leonard R. and Roger D. Gehman; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 2 to 4 PM, at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Avenue, Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 9 to 10AM, at the funeral home, followed by funeral services at 10AM with Pastor Timothy Craven officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
