Robert R. Griffith, 91, of Lancaster, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Brethren Village, Lititz, PA.

He was born in Brownstown to the late George and Sadie (Eshleman) Griffith and was the husband of the late Jane D. (Keller) Griffith who passed away in 2012.

He was a longtime member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren and served as an usher and deacon.

Robert retired from Sperry New Holland in 1985 after 41 years and later worked for Garden Spot Auto Auction for over 15 years. He and his wife volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Ephrata for many years. He served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved visiting with family, collecting various watches and traveling, especially to Ocean City, NJ.

Robert is survived by 2 daughters, Judith E., widow of Francis Hertz of Camden, DE, Jolene K., wife of Randy Newcomer of Ephrata, and a grandson, Benjamin E. Newcomer, partner of Erica Harmon, of Belmont, MA.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Florence Trego, Edwin Griffith, Arthur Griffith, Paul "Punch" Griffith, Pearl Klopp, Elmer Griffith, Harvey Griffith, and Ralph Griffith.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10 to 11AM at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Avenue, Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 11AM, with Pastor Rob Eshelman officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
